PICKLEBALL

Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport.  According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), in 2024, pickleball was the fastest growing sport in the U.S. for the 4^th consecutive year.  The growth rate in 2024 was 45.8% and 311% over the past three years..  The total number of participants in the U.S. is now nearly 20 million players.  This expansion is evident in both casual and core player demographics with a 56% increase in casual plyers (1-7 times per year) and a 28% increase in core players(8+ times per year) from 2023.

Pickleball is a great way to exercise and people enjoy the social aspect.  Doubles is most often played locally though there are singles tournaments as well.  A Pickleball court is only 44 feet long compared to a tennis court which is 78 feet long.  We liken it more to ping pong than tennis with touch, finesse and explosive power.  In the Westchester and Connecticut area there are many places to play through town recreation departments, clubs and local groups.

PLATFORM TENNIS

Platform tennis in our area is extremely popular from October through March.  Players love the cold weather, outdoor, winter racquet sport.  Most courts are at country clubs but many towns have public courts.

We carry paddles and balls from Xenon, Master and Viking and we demo paddles.  Paddle courts are abrasive and hard on sneakers so many players shop our outlet tennis sale shoes as they can go through two pairs of court sneakers per season.

PADEL

Padel is the newest racquet sport to hit this area, originating in Mexico and spreading throughout South America with Argentina, Spain and Brazil reaching the finals of the Padel World Championship held every second year since 1992.

As we see more courts built locally, the game should spread quickly as everyone who plays seems to find it fun and enjoyable.

We carry Padel racquets from Wilson and Padel balls from Head. Padel balls are less pressurized than tennis balls

PING PONG

We have ping pong paddles from Joola and Butterfly starting at $4.95 and going up to $69.99 and balls for recreation and tournament play.  We carry replacement nets.
